The imagination and craft Phillips has fused into the words of these stories is truly spellbinding, and Third Man Books can’t be grateful enough to Phillips for the opportunity to publish the collection.   • About the book: JESUS CRAWDAD DEATH by Betsy Phillips is the third publication in Third Man Books limited edition chapbook series. Phillips’s collection features three speculative fiction stories spanning Jesus as a professional wrestler, the romance between a woman and her creek, and conversations between Death, the ghosts of St. Francis of Assisi, William Faulkner, and Willam Gay.

  • Betsy Phillips’s short fiction has appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction and Apex Magazine. She is the author of A City of Ghosts and The Wolf’s Bane. Her writing about history and politics has appeared in the Nashville Scene and, occasionally, in the Washington Post. Her newest short collection, Jesus Crawdad Death, will be published by Third Man Books in October, 2018. She is currently working on an afghan.

  • Born into an earthly form to help those near and far, Kat Marsh uses her works and voice to inspire, humor, and rattle possibilities. Her expressions range from the coy to the taboo breathing perspectives to the obvious and overlooked. She has been heard as far away as Iceland and around town at Oz Arts, Poetry in the Brew, Southern Festival of Books, award ceremonies and more.   • Sara M. Harvey is an author, professor, and occasional (ghost) tour guide in Nashville. Sara’s novels include MUSIC CITY about a banshee with a record contract and some Greek goddesses set in Nashville, TN, and A YEAR AND A DAY, angels are roommates in NYC, has a romance angle. THE BLOOD OF ANGELS series, from Apex Publications, is a set of novellas about Nephilim in a Steampunk setting and SEVEN TIMES A WOMAN is a sexy, historic fantasy set in Japan. Her short stories have appeared in MYTHIC DELIRIUM and BENEATH CEASELESS SKIES, as well as two anthologies from Flame Tree Publishing (LOST WORLDS and the forthcoming LOST SOULS). She has an undying love for all things Halloween.

  • Samantha Edmonds’ fiction appears or is forthcoming in such journals as Mississippi Review, Black Warrior Review, Pleiades, The Pinch, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, among others. An MFA candidate at the University of Tennessee, she currently lives in Knoxville.
